Welcome to our school

St Edmund’s Nursery School has received recognition for the outstanding provision offered since 2006, being graded Outstanding by Ofsted, being a school of choice for parents across the Bradford District and recognised as an exemplar of excellent practice by the local authority, participating in national projects that require high standards.

We have decided that the time is right to open a new school for Bradford to extend the work we have done for years in making the most of the opportunities presented to develop provision for children and young people aged 0-19, utilising our experience and approaches to learning.

We use a lot of photographs on the website of children and families accessing the school/centre. We hope that these are a source of pleasure and pride which enhances self-esteem for children and families. Parents are asked for permission to use photos in this way. If there are any photos on the website that parents do not want to appear, please let us know. Photos should not be copied or used by other organisations.

Better Together: We would like to invite you to join us on Friday 12th February to help us to plan for the future of St Edmund’s Nursery School and Children’s Centre. The next year is going to be a really exciting one for us as we move forwards with our bid for a Free School, continue to develop the West Bradford Children’s Centre Cluster and make sure that all our provision remains outstanding. We need your help to make sure we offer what you need. Book a place, and a creche place if you need one, at reception.

We have a new family learning course “Keeping Up with the Children!” which will run each Wednesday from 9th March to 25th May. This new English course will support you to develop your English, including learning new reading and writing skills. Learners also have the opportunity to take a functional skills qualification.

Parents Together: We will be meeting on 24th February, 7th March, 12th April and 10th May. All parents are welcome to join us from 9.00 – 11.30 or from 1.00 – 2.30. The minutes for the meeting that was held in January are available on the corridor.

Every day and on time: One of the best ways that we can do the best for our children is to make sure that they attend nursery on time every day. If your child is poorly, you must phone in and let us know. If your child doesn’t arrive at nursery, and we don’t know why, we always text parents. Please let us know if you change your mobile number.
