The primary aim of the Family and Community Services team at St Edmund’s Nursery School and Children’s Centre is to provide a range of services to support families raising their children in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

The Centre offers a range of activities some of which are targeted at particular groups e.g First Time Mums, others are designed to attract any parent who feels they may benefit from attending e.g Stay and Play. Services are planned and timetabled so that all the needs of a family can be met at any one time.

It is recognised that families may face periods when they need additional support in order to maintain a stable, secure and happy home for their children. These families may be identified by a colleague or our services may be requested by an external agency such as a Health Visitor or neighbouring Children’s Centre. Equally should a parent/carer feel that they need a little extra support they only need to speak to one of the team who will be happy to help.

The Family and Community Services team are responsible for planning, and in some cases delivering, the timetable of courses and events that we offer. If you have ideas about how we could improve our services to children and families please speak to us as we are always looking to improve what we do.
