Creche

Here at St Edmund’s we are committed to providing children and families with a high quality, fun experience during Stay & Play sessions.

When you visit us for the first time we will welcome you into our Creche and provide you with a warm friendly greeting.  A member of the team will sit and talk to you about the ‘Creche agreement’ and ask for information for our records.

We ensure that the sessions are adequately staffed by qualified and experienced professionals.  The children are offered a healthy nutritious snack and we also like parents to encourage their child to wash their hands and join us at the table for a social interactive experience.

We have Stay & Play sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays 10.30am until 3.30pm.  Children 0-5 years are welcome.

Baby Stay & Play sessions are on Tuesday afternoons 1.00pm until 3.00pm for children aged 0 – 2 years.  The babies and baby staff also join us from the 0 – 2 extended provision.

Our Special Educational Needs Stay & Play is on Thursday afternoons from 1.00pm until 3.00pm.  Danuta our SEN Co-Ordinator is here for parents to talk to her or who may need any information.  Children with Special Educational Needs from the others rooms join us in the Creche to play.

We have a lovely sensory room which we use throughout our Stay & Play sessions.  Children can explore the different resources and materials by using their senses.

Our Creche is provided for families who attend any of the courses and parenting programmes .  We ask for a small fee of £2 a session.  Some of the courses that you will attend are for parents and their children such as ‘Parents Involvement in Children’s Learning’ and ‘English for Parents and Children’.  The children who are provided a Creche place will have their own ‘Record of Achievement file’.  Staff will make observations and take photographs to go into their files so that parents can celebrate children’s achievements with us.

We would appreciate any pictures, photographs or written observations about what they enjoy doing at home so that we can keep Records of Achievement up to date with children’s experiences.
