As a school we attach great importance to continued professional development for staff. We offer: -

• Training for whole staff within the school setting, either on a designated ‘training day’ or at the end of the school day (training may be delivered by school staff or by outside professionals)
• Training for individual staff.

We use a wide range of providers from across the region to access training in order to best meet the needs of the school.

This school year training has included: -

• Outdoor play and outdoor provision (whole staff and individuals)
• Supporting the writing process (whole staff)
• Playing with Sounds (whole staff)
• Boys Achievement (individuals)
• Nursery Schools training day (whole staff)
• Visits to Children’s Centres (whole staff)
• Observation and assessment Birth to three (individuals)

Following individual training staff feedback and plan ‘what’s next’ for St. Edmund’s.

In addition we offer support and training to a variety of other settings including: -

• Opportunities to visit St. Edmund’s to observe and discuss learning.
• Open days/evenings and running courses at St. Edmund’s
• Training in their settings by our practitioners
