Community

Contact with the community is included in our planning and aims. There is a program of visits and visitors, so that children have an increased awareness of their place in the community.

St. Edmund’s Nursery School takes port in an ‘Early Start’ project (funded by the Government’s Single Regeneration Budget), in which Outreach Workers work with bilingual families in the Manningham/Girlington area, through home visits and pre-nursery groups.

PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY

The staff at St. Edmund’s Nursery School build on the progress that children have already made at home in the first few years of life, recognising the role of parents and carers, as the first and continuing educators of their children.

There are many opportunities for parents to learn about the curriculum in the nursery and to share the achievements and the progress of their children with staff. This communication is seen as an important aspect of our work.
