“St Edmund‘s Children‘s Centre is at the heart of its community and is extremely successful, providing an outstanding quality of service for all its children and families. The centre is exceptionally well led, with outstanding teamwork leading to excellent provision for families. Responsibilities are distributed across the staff team, which ensures that each member of staff plays an important part in the children‘s centre and its delivery of a range of excellent services. Many of the staff are former centre users, volunteers or students and they provide excellent role models for their community. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, commitment and dedication to raising standards are exemplary.”
St Edmund‘s Children‘s Centre Inspection Nov 2011

Who would have thought that since the last newsletter we would have had two inspections!

The Christmas holidays are always a special time for me and my family, we get to spend some precious time together watching films, going for walks and playing silly games! This Christmas was even more special knowing that Ofsted had been and gone and the result was even better than I could have imagined.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, leading a fully integrated Nursery School & Children‘s Centre like St Edmund‘s is really hard work but reading the inspection reports brought tears to my eyes and makes everything worthwhile.

“This school continues to provide an outstanding education for children. `The St Edmund‘s experience is something very special‘, and `My children love it and so do I‘ are comments that typify the overwhelmingly positive views of parents and carers. By working closely together as a highly effective staff team, since the previous inspection, the school has gone from strength to strength, building successfully on its track record of outstanding achievement. Improvements in children‘s attendance, to the outstanding quality of teaching, enhancement of the excellent curriculum, along with even stronger partnerships fostered with a growing number of parents and carers, are just a few examples of the many recent successes. Apart from children’s attainment and their attendance both of which are above average, all aspects of the school’s work are outstanding.”
