•  The St Edmund‘s experience is something very special

Apart from children’s attainment and their attendance both of which are above average, all aspects of the school’s work are outstanding.

  • "Thank you all for your wonderful comments, leading a fully integrated Nursery School & Children‘s Centre like St Edmund‘s is really hard work but reading the inspection reports brought tears to my eyes and makes everything worthwhile".

    Headteacher - Annemarie Merifield

  • To Anne-Marie,

It’s been an absolute please bringing my Son here, the friends we’ve made and the experiences we’ve had are unforgettable. You’ve taken the Centre from strength to strength and I hope you will continue to do so!

  • Thank you Anne-Marie and Lyndsay for having an amazing nursery!

I am so grateful for the wonderful foundation laid in my Son’s education. Saying that, St Edmund’s is not just an education setting but a small family unit where not only the children but parents are welcomed into.

SEN

Special Education Needs (SEN)

SEN Admissions:

Children with complex needs are referred for additional support within the Nursery by Bradford’s Early Years Inclusion Panel. Parents can also request places directly. We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities for admission and access to all areas of the curriculum for all children, in line with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001. Our school/centre is fully accessible with lift facilities to the first floor. Throughout the building there are adult accessible toilets whilst children have facilities within the Hygiene room

SEN Policy and Equality:

In May 2010 we were awarded the Gold Quality Mark for Inclusion. This was achieved through a real team effort and everyone contributing to the production of two files reflecting all the inclusive practice that exists within the centre. We are looking forward to being presented with our award in the Autumn.

Staff continue to increase their knowledge and expertise through relevant training sessions providers by Health or Education.
